U.S. CONGRESSMAN JERRY COSTELLO PRESENTS DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT CHECK TO CAMPBELL HILL FIRE DEPARTMENT

Campbell Hill, IL - On Wednesday August 24, 2005, U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) presented a Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters grant check to Campbell Hill Fire Department officials at the Campbell Hill Fire Station.      

Costello presented Fire Department officials with a mock grant check in the amount of $50,920. The Campbell Hill Fire Department will use these funds to purchase air packs, filling equipment and radios.

The Assistance to Firefighters Program is administered by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  The program seeks to enhance the ability of local fire departments to respond to fire and fire-related hazards in their communities. Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program.
