U.S. CONGRESSMAN JERRY COSTELLO PRESENTS CHECK TO REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OFFICIALS FOR TRANSPORTATION PROJECT

Marion, IL - On Wednesday, August 24, 2005, U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) presented a check representing Transportation Bill funds to officials with REDCO, the Regional Economic Development Corporation of Williamson County, in front of the Aisin plant located in Marion, Illinois.

Costello presented REDCO officials, State Representative John Bradley and Herrin Mayor Vic Ritter and Marion Mayor Bob Butler with a mock check in the amount of $800,000. REDCO and the City of Marion will use these funds to build a road extension in the REDCO Industrial Park . This project will provide for the extension of Redco Drive to Skyline Drive, the main transportation access for the AISIN Industrial Plant which is located in the park.  

Costello secured these funds for the improvement to build the road in the multi-year Transportation Bill recently approved by the U.S. Congress.
