WILLIAMSON COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY RECEIVES TRANSPORTATION FUNDS

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Federal Aviation Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation has released $1,000,000 for the Williamson County Airport Authority through the Airport Improvement Program. The funds will be used to update the airport master plan study, acquire an aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicle and construct an aircraft rescue and firefighting building.

"The Williamson County Airport provides important services to Southern Illinois," said Costello. "An efficient transportation system is critical to a sound national economy and regional economic development. I will continue to work to make this a priority of the federal government."
