  1. Nearly one year ago, I stood with engineers and construction workers on what is now the Charles W. Cullen Bridge over the Indian River Inlet. Today, this bridge is completed, open for traffic, and has just won the Grand Conceptor Award from the Delaware American Council of Engineering Companies! Congratulations to all who worked on this project on this achievement.

  2. Did you know Westside Family Healthcare has opened a new center in Middletown? I joined Congressman John Carney at a ribbon cutting event to celebrate its opening this morning before heading to Washington D.C. I am proud to support federally qualified health centers like Westside that serve Delawareans in need of quality health care. http://www.westsidehealth.org/en-US/Locations
  3. Today, I was honored to join veterans, young cadets and leaders from across our state at the Delaware Military Academy to pay our respects to those we lost 71 years ago at Pearl Harbor. This holiday season, be sure to thank a veteran for the selfless sacrifices they've made for us and our country.
  4. Happy Delaware Day, everyone! 225 years ago, our state became the "First State" to ratify the Constitution. We should all be proud of Delaware's rich history and unique place in the founding of this great nation!
  5. Tomorrow is the deadline to postmark cards for the American Red Cross' Holiday Mail for Heroes program. This is a great way to send a special touch of home to troops serving overseas this holiday season, so please take a moment to sign a card and drop it in the mail today!
  6. Cheers, everyone! Great photos from the Delaware State News's Dave Chambers on his page, including this fun one of me and U.S. Senator Chris Coons from a visit to Fordham in January.

  13. On November 19, I joined Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden, Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus, and Lt. Gov. Matt Denn to announced the naming of one of the newest Navy submarines for the First State. It was a proud moment for me, as this is the firs...
t naval vessel to bear the name "Delaware" in almost 90 years. We even had a surprise guest drop by, Vice President Joe Biden. It was a great event celebrating Delaware and honoring the 73,000 veterans from the First State.
