New Democrat Coalition Letter Calls for Swift Passage of Russia PNTR

Washington, D.C. – Today, Members of the New Democrat Coalition Trade, Critical Infrastructure and Manufacturing Task Force, sent a letter to their colleagues in the House of Representatives urging support of passage for Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) with Russia.

“We must open the door for our nation to engage in Russia’s lucrative market.  This agreement eliminates existing trade barriers and provides critical enforcement and protection through the World Trade Organization so that American businesses can actively participate in one of the world’s largest economies.  Russia will be held accountable for its actions and the United States will benefit from its growing economy.

As New Dems, we understand the importance of advancing America’s stake in the global economy, and know increasing U.S. trade and exports will keep America competitive and prosperous in the years to come.”
