GOP budget hits seniors hard, would raise yearly health care cost by $7,000
Seniors would be among the hardest hit under the Republican budget unveiled this week.
An analysis by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office found that the GOP plan would double premiums for Medicare beneficiaries by 2022 and nearly triple their costs by 2030.
The Republican plan would also double seniors' health care premiums and cost-sharing, an increase of nearly $7,000 per year, by 2022, compared to current law!
That is wrong!
Republicans are asking seniors to sacrifice health care and other services while protecting tax breaks for corporations that ship jobs overseas and subsidies for Big Oil.
House Democrats will continue to fight against any efforts to privatize or dismantle critical programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
