Larson Condemns Senate GOP Obstruction of Student Loan Bill

GOP budget hits seniors hard, would raise yearly health care cost by $7,000

Seniors would be among the hardest hit under the Republican budget unveiled this week.

An analysis by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office found that the GOP plan would double premiums for Medicare beneficiaries by 2022 and nearly triple their costs by 2030.

The Republican plan would also double seniors' health care premiums and cost-sharing, an increase of nearly $7,000 per year, by 2022, compared to current law!‬

That is wrong!

GOP No Jobs Clock

House GOP Spending Bill is “Penny Wise, Pound Foolish” on Deficit Reduction

Twelve weeks into the 112th Congress, the Republican Leadership continues to claim that their top priority is deficit reduction. The reality is, it’s anything but! Under the guise of cutting spending, the House GOP has gone after programs that actually reduce the deficit. For example, they passed a $600 million cut to the Internal Revenue Service, which brings in $10 for every $1 it spends by making people pay what they owe.

We must repeal "1099" without hurting U.S. middle class

Today, House Republicans unanimously voted against protecting middle class families from potential tax hikes in the “1099” small business reporting requirement repeal bill. While House Democrats strongly support the repeal (which we proposed last year), the GOP bill penalizes hard working middle class Americans with $25 billion in new taxes.
