Hultgren to be named Friend of Agriculture Tuesday
Monday October 15, 2012GENEVA, IL—Congressman Randy Hultgren (IL-14) will be named a Friend of Agriculture by the Illinois Farm Bureau Tuesday for his exceptional voting record on Illinois Farm Bureau federal priority issues in the current session of Congress. The presentation will take place from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16 at the McHenry County Farm Bureau, and the press are invited.

As a member of the agriculture committee, Hultgren helped write the House version of the farm bill that won bipartisan support. The bill would enhance risk management programs for farmers while cutting $35 billion from the federal deficit over the next decade. Hultgren also voted for trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama that will boost U.S. agricultural exports by $2.5 billion per year and opposed excessive regulations on farm dust, child farm labor, and pesticide applications.
