Hultgren Statement On December Jobs Report
Friday January 06, 2012Geneva, IL – U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren (IL-14) today issued the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics issued the December jobs report.
“Once again, we are reminded of the President’s broken promises and failed policies, which continue to burden Americans with an unemployment rate that, though lower, remains staggeringly high. We were told that the President’s trillion-dollar stimulus would keep unemployment below 8 percent; now, however, it has exceeded 8 percent for 35 months.
“It’s time for the President to stop playing election year politics, and instead call on the Senate to pass the 28 bipartisan jobs bills the House passed last year. These bills offer the right prescription for sustained economic growth – less spending, reasonable regulation, and smaller government – rather than the Washington-centric, spending splurge policies of this Administration.”
