1)        Even New Yorkers can see the Writing on the Wall.  You know something is a’ stirring when David Brooks uses his perch at the New York Times to argue that America should return more power to local officials.

2)        Federalism: A Formula for Prosperity.  In a post at the 10th Amendment Center, Harold Pease argues that the U.S. Constitution is “directly responsible for th[e] creative outburst of life-changing technology because it unleashed incentive, which unleashed creativity, which resulted in tools never before seen by man.”

3)        Governor Perry on the 10th Amendment.  Ben Domenech recently posted a recording of his interview with Texas Governor Rick Perry over at the New Ledger.   Governor Perry used the opportunity to discuss his views on government and the importance of the 10th Amendment.  Similar issues were raised by the Governor in this TIME story describing the Texas’ federalist-based squabble with the EPA.

4)        The New Drug of Choice:  Federal Dollars.  The Cato Institute’s Tad DeHaven calls attention to the dangers of states increasing their dependency on the federal government.  Tad includes a chart showing the dramatic increase in federal aid to state and local governments that is downright alarming.

5)        What’s a Tenther?  Audrey Pietrucha describes the origins and the goals of the “Tenthers.” More discussion of the Tenther movement can be found here.

6)        The “Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act” Sham.  Reihan Salam takes six Republican Senators to task http://www.nationalreview.com/agenda/230021/public-safety-employer-employee-cooperation-act/reihan-salamfor “fail[ing] to understand the virtues of a federal system, in which states are given room to pursue a wide variety of different policy approaches.”   

7)        The Constitutional Renaissance of the 10th.  The Texas Tribune reports on the emergent 10th Amendment push across America.

8)        The Oil Spill and Federalism.  Is there a federalism angle to the oil spill?  Kyle Wingfield says “yes.”

9)        Federal Meddling through “Build America Bonds.”  This BNET article describes what happens when the federal government starts meddling with state and local bonds.
