I-95/N U.S. 1 Business Park Exchange

Ormond Beach has big plans for a 6,000-acre business park at Interstate 95 and U.S. 1, and a new interchange on I-95 could be a boon to the project. City consultants are looking into the feasibility of adding a new interchange south of the existing one at U.S. 1 to lead directly into the business park connecting to Pineland Trail and North Timber Creek Road. The existing route does not have optimal access to the park and even requires crossing railroad tracks. City officials would look for federal funding for the new interchange if they decide to pursue the project.

In July 2005, Rep. Mica secured $880,000 for the new interchange at I-95 between US 1 and SR 40 that will benefit the North Ormond Beach Business Park and planned economic development in the area. The State of Florida is currently conducting a corridor analysis of I-95 which will determine the benefits and requirements of the proposed interchange. Federal funds will assist in the planning and design process.
