Agriculture

Agriculture is vitally important to Minnesota.  As the second largest employer in our state, and an essential source of food for our country, it is imperative we support the work of Minnesota farmers and ranchers.  Make no mistake, making a living from the land is not easy.  Today, Minnesota farmers and ranchers face numerous hurdles from burdensome governmental regulations to a tax code biased against Minnesotans that own a family farm.  To address these federal problems, I will support legislation to eliminate the death tax.  Moreover, I will oppose carbon emission trading schemes as well as unnecessary regulations that harm Minnesota agriculture.
