REP. ROYBAL-ALLARD ATTENDS GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR ABODE COMMUNITIES SENIOR CITIZENS HOUSING DEVELOPMENT

Today Congresswoman Roybal-Allard attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Terra Bella Housing development, which will provide seniors on fixed incomes with affordable, safe, and independent living in an environmentally responsible structure. There will be 65 apartments, a resident community garden and a mind-body fitness center. The project will replace a blighted and vacant lot. The project is being funded by federal Home Funds, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, City of Bell Gardens, CitiBank, Enterprise Community Partners, Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, LA County Housing Authority, LA County Community Development Commission, and Union Bank. Today’s groundbreaking of the Terra Bella Housing development is a great example of how the private sector and government can cooperate to benefit the community.
