Leader Cantor Statement On President Obama's Support Of The JOBS Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) released the following statement after President Obama offered his support for the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act, H.R. 3606, in a Statement of Administration Policy. In his State of the Union address, President Obama pledged to sign a bill that helps entrepreneurs and startups grow and create jobs, and the JOBS Act offers bipartisan solutions to achieve these goals. Leader Cantor stated:

“House Republicans put forward the JOBS Act to restore opportunities for small business owners and entrepreneurs to get off the ground, grow and create jobs. The JOBS Act compiles bipartisan measures that have passed the House and policies supported by President Obama to remove the obstacles preventing small businesses and startups from accessing the capital they need to grow and begin hiring. The President’s statement in support of the JOBS Act is great news for the small businessmen and women, entrepreneurs and startups that are driving job creation across the country. I thank my colleague Representative Stephen Fincher for sponsoring this common sense legislation. It is a welcome sign that we can put our differences aside and work together to produce results to help boost the economy and get people back to work.”
