Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement in response to the Obama Administration announcement that it will challenge China’s unfair export subsidies to its auto and auto parts manufacturers at the World Trade Organization (WTO):

“President Obama is to be commended for taking strong action to level the playing field for American manufacturers and workers as they compete against unfair Chinese government trade practices.  Today’s enforcement action by the Administration is an essential step in standing up for the U.S. auto sector.  It builds upon the aggressive actions the Obama Administration has already taken to challenge China’s subsidies to its wind power equipment manufacturers, automobile imports, steel products, and poultry products at the WTO.”
