Constitution

The United States Constitution is the benchmark across the world for establishing a democratic form of government. It is the bedrock of our nation, establishing the framework for our republic and the basis for our rule of law.  When they are sworn in to Congress, each Member pledges to preserve and protect the Constitution and to uphold its principles.

In Congress it is my responsibility to examine proposed legislation to ensure that it meets the needs of the 24th District, will not add additional bureaucracies to the federal government, will reduce federal spending, and upholds the Constitution.  If legislation meets those goals, I know that I will have performed my job to the best of my abilities.

The first bill that I introduced in the House is a measure to ensure that federal judges are only able to rely on United States law and precedent when making decisions - not foreign law.  Click here to read more about my bill.
