Tax Reform
Central and Southside Virginians deserve to keep as much of their hard earned money as possible. Keeping taxes low is an essential part of growing our economy and creating jobs.
Maintaining low tax rates minimizes the burdens on American families and drives investment in our country. It is also important to reduce the complexity in our tax laws, which are riddled with loopholes that benefit special interests. Taxpayers and small businesses spend countless hours and resources preparing their taxes each year – time and resources that could be devoted to more productive uses.
Our tax laws are in need of significant reform and simplification to make our tax code flatter and fairer. I support policies that promote simple, transparent tax laws designed to spur economic growth, increase fairness in the tax code, and reduce the burdens that the tax code imposes on hard-working Americans. To increase our competitive economic advantage, we must also reduce our corporate income tax rate – which is the second highest rate in the world.
As I have in the past, I will continue to support legislation that reduces taxes for all 5th District Virginians.
