Kaiser Family Foundation Resources on State Health Insurance Exchanges
Friday, Dec. 14 is the deadline for states to decide if they will run their own health insurance exchange. The Foundation’s up-to-date interactive state map reflects states’ decisions about whether to establish a state-run exchange, pursue a state-federal partnership or default to a federal-run exchange, while individual State Profiles offer more detail about each state’s progress on its exchange. Additional briefs explain how exchanges work, the insurance subsidies available to low- and moderate-income families enrolled in an exchange, and state efforts to establish an exchange as of late November.

Briefs Examine CMS Rules Governing Changes to Medicaid Eligibility and Enrollment Under the ACA
Two new briefs examine changes to Medicaid eligibility and enrollment rules under the Affordable Care Act. One brief provides a summary of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS) March 23, 2012 final rule to implement the ACA provisions relating to Medicaid eligibility, enrollment simplification and coordination. A companion brief summarizes Medicaid eligibility and benefits for people with disabilities today and explains how they will be affected by the ACA in light of CMS's new regulations.

Analysis Compares Employer Health Benefits for Workers in Small and Large Firms
A new analysis provides a detailed look at the difference in the availability of health coverage at small and large employers, as well as the variations in plan costs and cost-sharing requirements. The analysis is based on data from the annual Kaiser/HRET Employer Health Benefits Survey.
