House Passes Another Bipartisan, ‘All-of-the-Above’ Energy Bill

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement applauding House passage of H.R. 2842, the Bureau of Reclamation Small Conduit Hydropower Development and Rural Jobs Act, sponsored by Rep. Scott Tipton (R-CO):

“This common-sense legislation, part of Republicans’ ‘all-of-the-above’ energy strategy, would help expand production of clean, renewable hydropower by cutting red tape and getting government out of the way.  It is the latest in a series of bipartisan energy bills the House has passed to address high energy costs and help create private-sector jobs.  Unfortunately, the Obama Administration’s policies are making matters worse, increasing gas prices at a time when families and small businesses are struggling.  President Obama should make good on his commitment to work with Republicans on a real ‘all-of-the-above’ approach, and urge the Senate to act on these House-passed energy bills.  I commend Congressman Tipton for his leadership on this issue, and thank the Natural Resources Committee for its continued efforts to address the concerns of families and small businesses.”
