EPW Committee

As a member of the Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee, two of my top priorities are reigning in the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) regulatory overreach and ensuring our nation’s infrastructure continues to pave the way for a strong economy. The committee has jurisdiction over a host of issues important to Nebraskans, including environmental policy, water resources, fisheries and wildlife, and U.S. highways.

Nebraskans have always been great stewards of the environment, particularly our farmers who utilize the land to feed the world. By overseeing environmental policy, EPW can play a pivotal role in preserving our nation’s resources and addressing public health concerns in a way that keeps the economy growing and is respectful to landowners. The committee is crucial to ensuring EPA doesn’t overstep its boundaries or implement back door cap-and-trade.

EPW also has jurisdiction over our nation’s infrastructure. Roads and bridges that effectively support our communities will help our economy grow and remain competitive in the global market. Ensuring a viable infrastructure is an investment in the future. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the EPW Committee to address these important issues.
