Food Safety Legislation

Our nation's food safety system was designed over a century ago and was appropriate for a world in which most of our food was grown and processed domestically. Believing that it is important to modernize our nation's food safety system in light of an increasingly global food supply, Senator Burr teamed up with a bipartisan group of Senators to help shape S. 510, the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act.
