Black History Month

To commemorate Black History Month, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) today honored former Congressman William H. Gray III in a speech on the Senate floor and through a symposium on Mr. Gray and Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Teachers and First Responders

U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) today joined Senators Harry Reid (D-NV) and Bob Menendez (D-NJ) to introduce the Teachers and First Responders Back to Work Act. The bill would support the hiring, rehiring, and retention of career law enforcement officers and first responders. The bill will also save or create nearly 400,000 education jobs through critical investments in the education.

SCHOTT North America, Inc.

DURYEA, PA—U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), Chairman of the Joint Economic Committee (JEC), today toured specialty glass manufacturer SCHOTT North America, Inc. to push for an American manufacturing strategy and warn against the negative impact pending free trade agreements may have on Pennsylvania businesses and their ability to create jobs.

PHILADELPHIA, PA – U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) today was briefed by the U.S. Federal Transportation Administration and SEPTA officials on the state of aging mass transportation systems. Senator Casey joined U.S. Representative Chaka Fattah (D-PA), Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) Administrator Peter M. Rogoff, Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter and SEPTA officials for the briefing. The group also toured City Hall Station.
