Anton Becker Washington, DC – On July 11, 2012, Congressman Steve Rothman (NJ-9), co-chair of the Kurdish American Congressional Caucus and a Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations, was thanked by Qubad Talabani, Representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), for his leadership on improving the US-Kurdistan relationship. They discussed the current situation in Iraq, Syria, and the surrounding region. Congressman Rothman also thanked Mr. Talabani for his dedicated leadership as the Representative of the KRG in the United States for the past eight years and wished him and his family well as he returns to Kurdistan to be the Senior Policy Advisor to Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani.
