Interning on Capitol Hill or in New Jersey can be an invaluable experience. That is why Congressman Steve Rothman offers internships for college students from New Jersey and around the world. Each semester thousands of interns come to the Hill and to their districts to experience Congress from the inside. Not all of them are political science majors. You might run into journalism, marketing, history, and public relations majors.
Responsibilities include: attending hearings, preparing briefing papers for Member and staff, research, data entry and general office duties. All internships are unpaid and interns are responsible for their own housing. Resources for housing are available upon request.
