Sen. Franken’s Statement on the Passing of Former Sen. Arlen Specter

Today, U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) issued the following statement about the death former Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter.
"Arlen was incredibly welcoming to me when I first came to Washington. He and I became friends, and I made it a point to keep in touch after he left the Senate. He had a long and distinguished career, and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to serve with him. My heart goes out to his wife Joan, and to the rest of the Specter family."
