Social Security

Americans are living longer, working longer, investing more for their own retirement, and relying less on traditional pensions provided by their former, life-long employers.  I have been a longtime opponent of privatization of the social security system and do not believe the federal government should be investing social security funds in the stock market.  I stand ready to work on a comprehensive reform proposal that will ensure the program’s solvency for our children and grandchildren, without cutting benefits for current recipients.
