Job creation is absolutely crucial to our nation’s economic recovery and growth. Congress must end the tax and spend, borrow and bail out policies that have created the second largest deficit in our nation’s history. Instead of imposing tax hikes on American families and businesses to pay for out-of-control, double-digit increases in federal government spending, Congress should extend tax cuts and credits so that workers can keep more of their hard-earned money and employers, especially start-ups and small businesses, can invest, expand, and create jobs.

Congress also should adopt financial reforms that protect consumers and crack down on fraud as well as unfair and deceptive practices. Financial reform should foster a competitive marketplace, get credit flowing again, and allow consumers and businesses alike to choose the product that best meets their needs.

For families and businesses in the 13th Congressional district, I will continue to propose and support policies and initiatives that help businesses grow and create jobs, facilitate employment training and opportunities for Americans seeking work, and jumpstart our economy.
