Welcome to the beautiful 14th Congressional District of California. Located between the cities of San Francisco, Santa Cruz and San Jose, the 14th District includes portions of San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties. A list of cities and communities located in our District is below.
The 14th Congressional District is home several major government agencies, including the NASA Ames Research Center, the 129th Rescue Wing of the California National Guard, the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, the U.S. Geological Survey's Western Regional Office, and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy.
The 14th District is the birthplace of Silicon Valley, world center of the information technology and biotechnology industries. It was here in 1939 in a Palo Alto garage that William Hewlett and David Packard started their firm and today, sixty-one years later, Larry Page and Sergey Brin met here at Stanford University and went on to found Google nearby. The electronics and technology industries continue to flourish, and leaders such as AMD, Juniper Networks, Lockheed Martin, Seagate, Symantec, VeriSign, Facebook and a host of other leading firms are headquartered in the 14th District.
The 14th District is also renowned for its vibrant coast. At its north end, the District includes Half Moon Bay, known for its famous Pumpkin Festival and the world-class Mavericks surfing competition. At its south end, the District includes a mix of active farm land, ancient redwood forests and spectacular coastline.

Facts about the 14th District of California:
The 14th District has a rich mix of cultural and racial backgrounds, with approximately 60% white population, 20% Asian-American population and 20% Latino population.
There are 84,822 seniors who live in the district, slightly more than 13% of the total population.
Almost 150,000 families (149,754) live within the boundaries of the 14th District, with the majority of their children attending public school.
The workers contribute their talents and energies to many different industries, including technology, manufacturing, and education and health services, especially given its proximity to Silicon Valley and San Francisco.
The median income in the district is one of the highest in the nation at $80,000.
