WRDA Authorization for Illinois Projects

Congress authorizes and sets policy direction for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to undertake activities to maintain navigable channels, reduce flood and storm damage, and restore aquatic ecosystems in Water Resources Development Acts (WRDAs). The Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee is currently reviewing project authorizations for the next WRDA bill.

To request an authorization for the Water Resources and Development Act (WRDA), please start by downloading the Request Requirements document. Eligible applicants must demonstrate ability to meet all Army Corps cost share requirements as mandated by federal law. Please note, submitting a request does not guarantee the request will be forwarded to the EPW Committee or that a submitted request will be successful.

To submit an application, please email a scanned copy of your request letter and any other electronic documents relevant to your project to illinois_requests@durbin.senate.gov by April 15, 2011.

All WRDA authorization requests require both a request letter and an additional questionnaire. After requests are received and reviewed, additional forms and questionnaires may be necessary.
