Congressional Art Contest

Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition is a juried art competition and an opportunity to recognize and support the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in each congressional district.

The Congressional Art Competition is open to all high school students, and the overall winner of each district will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol.

Apart from being recognized for their outstanding piece of work, the winner in each congressional district may also be eligible to take part in a reception in Washington, DC, through a pact with Southwest Airlines. And in the past, winners have even been awarded scholarships to The Savannah College of Art and Design!

This is an opportunity for students to display their work and take pride in their creative abilities as well as a way to promote the arts.
