Small Business

As a small business owner, I know what it is like to meet a payroll.

President Obama has been demanding that Congress pass his jobs bill and has asked for Republicans to offer a jobs plan. Not only have House Republicans already offered a plan, but we have been focused on passing legislation that will create a better environment for job creation since the beginning of this year. House Republicans proposed the Plan for America’s Job Creators, and we have been passing elements of that plan for more than a year.

The House has passed nearly 30 measures included in our Plan for America’s Jobs Creators that would empower individuals; reduce regulatory burdens; update our tax code so that it benefits all Americans; encourage entrepreneurship and growth; maximize domestic energy production to ensure an energy supply for the 21st Century; pay down America’s unsustainable debt burden and start living within our means; and open new markets for Missouri goods. That’s real progress, but, unfortunately, the Senate and White House have ignored the majority of these initiatives.

I will continue to support and push for policies that don’t over-regulate our nation’s job creators. The government needs to get out of the way and let the private sector do what it does best, which is to help grow our nation’s economy and put Americans back to work.
