Washington, DC – Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey (D-CA) today announced that she will undergo back surgery at the University of California San Francisco the first week of March to treat a disc related condition in her lumbar spine.

Woolsey has increasingly suffered from back pain for much of the past year, and was unable to return to Washington this week as a result.  She will have an abbreviated schedule for 2-3 weeks following the surgery, and is expected to be fully recovered within 6 weeks.  She is planning on returning to Washington on Monday.
