Hastings’ Statement on House Vote to Repeal Health Care Law
Washington,
Jul 11 -
Congressman Doc Hastings released the following statement regarding today’s vote to repeal Obamacare, which passed the House of Representatives by a bipartisan vote of 244 to 185:
“Today marks the 31st time I have voted to repeal, defund, and eliminate all and parts of this trillion dollar, government-knows-best approach to health care,” said Congressman Doc Hastings. “As a result of Obamacare, Americans are already seeing health insurance costs increase – and despite promises from President Obama – many have been kicked off of their current plans, and Medicare cuts have made it harder for seniors to find doctors and get the care they need.
“ If Obamacare is not repealed, this will only continue, and unelected IRS agents will be charged with ensuring Americans have government-approved health insurance or they will be required to pay a tax to Uncle Sam. American families simply can’t afford this government-knows-best system. Repealing this law is the first step to allowing individuals and families to make their own health care decisions – not the federal government.”
