Washington, May 17 - “We need to protect these jobs, which is why the House acted so quickly three weeks ago. While I have strong reservations about the Senate changes, I have been given firm assurances that the altered bill solves the problems faced by the backcountry horsemen. For this reason, I am working tonight to get the altered bill considered in the House as soon as possible.” said Rep. Devin Nunes.

Nunes is the author of H.R. 4849, the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks Backcountry Access Act. The original bill passed the House on April 27, 2012. Click here for more information.

The House is expected to take up the amended legislation under a unanimous consent agreement on Friday, May 18, 2012. The bill will pass and be sent to the President if none of the Members object.
