WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Ander Crenshaw, Chairman of the House Legislative Branch Appropriations Subcommittee and Member of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, today (9/7) announced the addition of Operative Iraqi Freedom Veteran Thomas Toomey to his Jacksonville staff under the House of Representatives Wounded Warrior Fellowship Program.

“The Wounded Warrior Fellowship Program recognizes the invaluable knowledge and leadership of our nation’s veterans. Beginning Monday, the Fourth Congressional District will benefit from this initiative when Thomas Toomey begins his work a caseworker and veterans outreach coordinator in my Jacksonville office,” said Crenshaw.

“Wounded in the line of duty as a U.S. Army Sergeant in Ramadi, Iraq in 2007, Thomas does not let the experience hold him down,” Crenshaw continued. “His extensive knowledge of the military and the Wounded Warrior Project will serve Northeast Florida well, and I’m proud to have him on board.”

The Wounded Warrior Program was established to create fellowships that will provide employment opportunities for wounded or disabled veterans within the House of Representatives in Washington, DC and in district offices nationwide. Thomas lives in Jacksonville with his wife Rebecca and four daughters.
