VA Hoax

Many veterans receive phony notices or applications informing them of a so-called special government life insurance dividend. The phony applications claim dividends or refunds have been recently authorized by Congress. The hoax is fueled by the mysterious distribution of official looking application forms, complete with an address where dividends are said to be available for the asking. In fact, there is no such dividend for veterans who do not keep their insurance in force. No such legislation has been proposed in Congress. Millions of veterans have been disappointed by this hoax. Help spread the word: It is a Hoax!

Junk Mail

There are ways to cut down the amount of unwanted advertising mail. If you'd like to reduce the amount of unsolicited correspondence you recieve, I would urge you to review the "Just Say No" guide published by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Additionally, postal customers may always exercise their rights to mark any mail matter (except registered, insured, certified, or C.O.D. mail) "REFUSED" and return it unopened to the mailstream.

Telemarketers

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has established a national do not call registry. Most telemarketers cannot call your telephone number if it is in the National Do Not Call Registry. You can register your home and mobile phone numbers for free. Your registration will be effective for five years.
