The Museum’s exhibitions and the scientific fieldwork and expeditions on which they are based are supported by National Geographic’s Mission Programs, which receives generous funding by corporations, foundations, and individuals.

Photography exhibitions in the Museum’s M Street gallery and outdoors are free.
Admission may be purchased online, in person, or by calling +1 202 857 7700 Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET. All individual ticket sales are final. A per ticket transaction fee will be assessed at check out for online purchasing. There is no additional fee for tickets purchased in person. Tickets allow for entry every 30 minutes. You may enter the museum at any point within your ticket’s 30-minute window, or at alternate times if there is availability, and stay as long as you wish. There are no refunds or exchanges. Groups of 25 or more are eligible for group sales rates.
Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Closed December 25.
The last tickets will be sold at 5:15 p.m. with entry allowed until 5:30 p.m., with 30 minutes until closing.
The Museum will be closing at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday December 6 and Monday December 24, with last tickets sold at 3:00 p.m.
The Museum will be closing at 5:00 p.m. on Friday December 14, with last tickets sold at 4:00 p.m.
Location
National Geographic Museum is centrally located in downtown Washington, D.C., at 17th and M Streets NW. The Museum is convenient to two Metro stops: Farragut North (red line) and Farragut West (blue/orange lines). Several bus lines also serve the area. Visit www.wmata.com for more transportation information. Street parking and several garages are available near National Geographic.
Named a silver Bicycle Friendly Business by The League of American Bicyclists, National Geographic offers bicycle parking on nature-inspired bike racks on M Street. Bicycle parking is also available on the P-1 level of the National Geographic parking garage for evening and weekend NG Live! events.

Tuesdays at Noon
Enrich your visit to National Geographic with free films most Tuesdays at noon. Screenings include selections from National Geographic Channel films, All Roads Film Project, and independent film makers.

Accessibility
The galleries of National Geographic Museum are wheelchair accessible. The ramp to access the Museum is located on M Street just east of 17th Street. A limited number of complimentary wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Inclement Weather Policy
National Geographic Museum does not generally close due to weather conditions. Call +1 202 857 7588 to inquiry whether the Museum is open or closed. If the recording does not mention a closing, the Museum is open. When the Museum is open, tickets are nonrefundable. If the Museum closes due to inclement weather, group reservations may be rescheduled by contacting the Group Sales Office. Individual ticket holders will be offered alternate viewing hours, which will be posted to the Museum’s website and phone line as soon as possible.
