Don't Ask Don't Tell needs to be repealed and the Lame Duck Congress should do so immediately. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mullen BOTH support such repeal. It is about time it gets done and brings equality in opportunity to serve to ALL Americans.

Your claim that letting the Bush tax cuts expire for those making over $250k a year for couples would hit 'small businesses" is spurious. Only 3% of ALL American households make over $250k per year. The same percentage holds for small business owners. The raise in the marginal rates would be only between 4 - 6% on only a small portion of their income. This is not some kind of growth killer at all. In reality it would close a revenue hole in the budget by over $700 billion over the next decade and we could thereby leave the Bush tax cuts intact for the 97% of all American households that make less than $250k per year. Your discussion on this matter is just not honest Jack. Stop repeating your party's talking points and start speaking for yourself for a change. It would be refreshing and would be indicative of real leadership. At least try to explain your position cogently without resort to the talking points.

Warnings of 40 days of hearings, impeachment, and other obscene wastes of time and money should stop immediately. Work together. Do it now.

GOVERNMENT SPENDING MUST STOP! Cut out the waste in government programs which are either redundant or inefficient or plain wasteful! The Bush tax cuts must not be allowed to expire. Small businesses must be allowed to grow and keep and/or add employees without worry of added tax & government expense. The answer to slashing the deficit is NOT to find more revenue to fund entitlement programs. The answer to putting America back to work and not saddling future generations with back-breaking debt is to STOP SPENDING MONEY except for defense, infrastructure and the courts. Stop the ridiculous earmarks and pork. Do NOT GIVE ANY MONEY TO FANNY & FREDDY! All Congressional members must read the Bills before voting and Congress needs to work together across party lines to fix the problems. Please let us know who is working together for the best of our country and who isn't.

Mr Kingston If Washington really wants to make cuts why do they not start with what they get paid. Cut down on the cost of travel. Have a flat tax get rid of the IRS give the people that money to put into the economy. It seems to me that White House wants change as long as it does not effect their bottom line . Give company tax brakes to get their company in America and tax the ones higher that out source their company. I hear ideas all the time from just common people if they have common sense ideas why can't those in Washington with all there knowledge do the same thing?

I believe in "helping", but not the one who gives the most!! How about government waste spending...we do not need to cut money on defense! Let's keep our money here in the USA, there are many that NEED it here, such as the Senior Citizens, who have done their part. I'd like to see 1 or 2 people in Congress live on $1500 ( that is VERY high) a month and have to pay for medical ins., meds., house ins., life ins. food, gasoline, electricity, water bills and rent or mortgage!!! They would surely change their tune the. Perhaps the President should try this with his family.

No earmarks Cut spending by dramatically reducing the size of government. Find and get rid of wasteful spending. At the very least extend the Bush Tax Cuts and extend them across the board. We need the business man to know what to expect from the government in the way of regulations, taxes, and related cost so that they will feel comfortable in spending money on expansion. It through this expansion of business that we will finally see improvement in the job market. I personally feel the Don't ask Don't tell should remain in place. While we are fighting in two theaters we do not need a distrataction that could create more problems for our fighting men a women.

I'm having to go back to school at age 63 to learn medical coding and billing because I can't find a job because no one will hire me with three degrees. I cost too much. Congress needs to focus on the free market place and let the chips fall where they may. That sounds hard but it is the only way out of this mess. The Senate and Congress need to look at their own salaries and benefits and align them with the average person's salary and benefits. Term limits should be put on all senators and congressman. Two 4 yr terms for Senators and 2 3 year terms for Congressman. PERIOD! No one should be allowed to make a career out of the senate or congress. I think you are doing great in your endeavors for your constituents. Keep it up. Eileen Deer

I strongly urge that nothing be done to further the destructive agenda of the Democrats. Nothing at all should be done beyond stopping them from running up tax rates so that they can then spend more money to buy votes. I respectfully ask that every effort be made to stop or else delay every Democrat proposal until newly elected congressmen can be seated in January. America spoke on November 2nd and plainly told the Democrats to get out. Now it is time for Republicans and Conservatives to make sure that the voice of America is heard in Washington. As far as the items mentioned... Cap and Trade energy bill. No. The Employee Free Choice Act also known as “card check”. Yes. The DREAM Act. Absolutely No. Finalizing the FY 2011 appropriations process. No. Revisit it and strip it of any increases. Hold all spending at 2010 levels. Grant no further increases. Another bailout for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. No. The repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”. Absolutely No. I hope that I have been respectful. I am very deeply concerned for our nation. May God bless you and all others who are working to fix the mess in Washington.

The new congress should not allow the Democrats to continue to dictate terms. The message Americans sent on Nov. 2nd clearly reveals that we are ready for a change in government. The lies, corruption and manipulation of this administration and the 111th Congressional Democrats has taken a toll on our country. Now the Democrats and the media are screaming that there should be compromise and cooperation on the part of the Republicans, while completely shutting out anyone not agreeing with their radical agenda. We will be very disappointed if those we put in office now compromise on issues we have been fighting against the past two years. Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the liberals in Congress still DON'T GET IT!!!. NO COMPRISE. Repeal Obamacare, extend Bush tax cuts, No DREAM Act, enforce Immigration Laws already existing, address waste and corruption in this administration, trim government employees , freeze on government salaries and spending, cancel credit card for Obama's outrageous spending on travel, vacation, parties. 10% cut across the board on all government spending & programs. Demand Obama produce a valid Birth Certificate and all records pertaining to his past including all school records. Demand the Democrats begin to follow the Constitution and the Laws of this Country. It's time the Republican Party stands up to those trying to destroy our country. This is why we voted for the Republicans to take control. We have done our part now it's up to you all to do yours.

I do not know why I am leaving these comments since it really does not matter what the American people think. Their interest has not been fairly represented. The only thing that elected officials care about is their own job and their fancy cars. Now what should be voted on is DADT should be made a priority but why would the republican party wish to do this since they would rather see us in concentration camps. They, likewise, do not care about the health care reform. Funny thing is that those who oppose the health care cannot even come up with a plan of action but can only complain. Put up or Shut Up! Just a couple of thoughts.

No new earmarks for five years. I am tired of less than productive grants and buildings and statues. Congress members should not be paid more than our soldiers. They can actually die giving service. Congress members can actually ...what...get indigestion! Some of our Congress members are there to give service....too many are there to take., Congress should receive the same care as soldiers....VA benefits for their care as well. Congress members should not become wealthy from public service..... Also, Federal employees should not, repeat not draw salaries and expenses that total MORE than the private sector. The private sector puts their money on the line to create jobs. Federal employees do not! This system has become an upside down nightmare. Let's work to show that we are serious about a real, substantial change in the country.

Our huge national debt needs to be addressed but the monies generated from eliminating these tax cuts is only a drop in the barrel of our massive 15 trillion dollar debt. It is time for you and all our elected officials to do what's best for the country, return us to the constitutional republic we were founded as and get the federal government functioning as our founding fathers intended and not the intrusive bureaucracy it has become. We the voters have allowed our elected officials to create a federal government to over reach it constitutional powers. But I for one will not allow it to destroy this once great nation.

What I would like to see from you Sir and the rest of the republicans that "We The People" have returned power to, is for you to be even more Conservative than they were liberal. First you need to do all that possible to repeal "Obamacare". If it can't be repealed then cut the funds and gut it until there is nothing left. Then let's put something together that makes sense. When those lawful citizens of this country are denied benefits over illegal aliens something is very wrong. What about those illegal aliens working and being paid under the table, they pay no taxes, the employer is skirting the system. Obama care needs to be stopped, do not fund it. It is important that important business be taken care of immediately before we go into absolute gridlock with the change in numbers in the Congress. The people have voted against their own self interest especially the middle class who will suffer the most under a Republican controlled House. The wealthy are all set for another 2 years. Why people would vote to return to power the people who got us into this horrible mess is beyond me but it shows that it is very easy to lie, manipulate and twist the truth and the voters will buy it. Any Christian who voted for the Republican and especially the Tea Party candidates has certainly never read Isaiah 58 and Matthew 25:31-46. Self interest is the first choice of Republicans but it is totally contrary to what God teaches in the Bible. His first concern was us and we should follow His teachings.

Card check ignores secret ballot, a very bad idea. Don't ask don't tell relates to a moral issue. Enacting it would further an agenda that is fundamentally immoral. For the general public, an argument against it is, I believe, that a sizable segment of the troops would not like it, notwithstanding reports to the contrary in the Washington Post earlier this week.

I totally agree that the one item you need to address & resolve is the tax issue. At this point in time, with a 9.6% unemployment rate, seniors not receiving a COLA increase for 2 years, foreclosures, & uncertainty about keeping jobs....taxes should NOT be increased. If nothing else, at least keep the current law in place. The second thing you need to do is remove those items from the budget that are "earmarked" and not essential to the welfare of all citizens...keep them out of the budget until the deficit is resolved. Remove items from every state....this action alone would prove to the voters that you're serious about resolving the crisis we're in right now.

revisit several unpopular legislative issues: •The hugely unpopular Cap and Trade energy bill.-- This was a bad idea when the economy was in good shape and is now a terrible idea. Global warming needs to be delt with but not in a manner that will create new markets for carbon. I believe this will do nothing except burden US business and enrich the traders who will come along to tap the new carbon market. •The Employee Free Choice Act also known as “card check”.-- Unions drive up the cost of anything they are involved with and shopuld not be encouraged. Look at the shape of California caused by the power of the unions. •The DREAM Act, which would grant amnesty to illegal aliens who entered the US under the age of 15 and have been in the country for five years and graduated from high school.-- We need a real immigration policy with real border enforcement not a piece meal approach. The Federal government has failed to do its job in this area and the best hope we have is for the states to come up with realistic ideas. Real is that the US needs immigrants but we should focus on the ones who will be assets for the country. Real is that the border can not be controled with cameras and the millions of illegal immigrants can not be deported. Real is that federal politicians are more interested in how to get these peoples vote than fixing the problem. So figure it out. •Finalizing the FY 2011 appropriations process that has recorded the highest increase level at $31.2 billion.-- Quit telling people that by cutting earmarks that you can make any real progress towards the deficit. The deficit is going to require reduced military spending, cutting services, cutting foriegn aid and a realistic tax structure. Without the cuts no one will support the tax as people see it as wasted money. •Another bailout for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to allow them to receive an additional $3.3 billion.-- You guys created this monster and therefore must deal with your creation. •The repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”.-- Looks like the sun is setting on this discriminatory practice and most people do not care.

During the lame duck session vote on extending the "Bush Tax Cuts". My household income is right at $250K and I do not object to raising tax rates on earnings of $250K and above to 39.6%. However, the "Bush Tax Cuts" should be made permanent for everyone earning less than $250K. In addition, all other "Bush Tax Cuts" should be extended for one year during the lame duck session (including the "Death Tax" at 0%). This extension to give time for the next Congress to develop a sound financial strategy for the future that includes appropriate tax increases along with targeted tax incentives for business that creates jobs in the near term. STOP all "Stimulus" spending and tax payer bail-outs of large corporations (if they fail they will survive through the bankruptcy process or they are just not worth saving). If any other funding must be considered during the lame duck session then only fund specific transportation infrastructure projects (limited to roads, bridges, ports and rail) that can be permitted and actually start "moving dirt" within one year.

Jack, I like your ideas and attitude. I believe the American people are also sick and tired of the elitist attitude of most our politicians. They are no better or worse than the rest of us and should act accordingly. They especially should participate in the same health care, social security and pension plan as the rest of us. What makes them so special that they should draw a pension after only one term? What other group gets to vote themselves a pay raise? Why should they get a raise when many retirees are not getting colas on their pensions are having to pay more for health insurance when they go on mandatory medicare and their social security income does not receive a cola? Why do some get special exemptions from paying income taxes. Where is the ethics and reform oversight? Many elected officials are in the upper class of incomes and do not need and therefore should not receive any of these privilidges. Cut out the pork and entitlements and many of the perks. Let them represent the people they are elected to serve. The mess this country is in is due to the fact that the majority of the Senators and Representatives in Washington want it that way! Otherwise it would not be so. They voted it to be! I believe it is obvious that the American people are finally coming to this realization and are in the process of changing that majority. If the proper changes are not made in the next two years we can and will change it again! Congress, take heed!!!

I would like to see a bill similar to the one passed in Oklahoma. Make it law that sharia law is illegal here in the U.S. Additionally, I wish that our conservative representatives would speak the following very often. None of you say this and it needs to be said, over and over. That is - Why is it so difficult to pass federal laws? Because the country is nearly split down the middle between liberals and conservatives who most times do not share the same vision. Many bills should be decided at the state level, not federal. Let each state decide if they want socialist health care, Massachusetts for example. The voters of that state decided they want to pay more for lower quality health care. That's fine. I don't live there, so I don't care what they do. Vermont or California may want to legalize gay marriage. I don't like that idea, but I don't live there but I respect the rights of others to have a different opinion than I do. By the same token, I live in Georgia and we largely don't want socialist health care nor gay marriage. So, we keep our existing excellent quality health care and say no to gay marriage. While it "should be" obvious to all credible judges that sharia is not a valid defense for a crime like rape, battery, or murder, it should be a state's right that they create a law specifically stating that sharia is illegal in that state. After all, the NJ Judge, now referred to as the Sharia Judge, allowed sharia as a defense. That should never be. Our conservative leaders need to vocalize the wisdom of the founding fathers on a regular basis. Talk about the tenth amendment. When there is a disagreement about the interpretation of various amendments and laws in regard to whether a state has a right or that right should be under federal jurisdiction, then quote our founders. Most wanted a small federal government with limited power. The federal government that we have today was never supposed to exist. We just assume that states don't have certain rights these days because this bloated, corrupted federal government has assumed far too much power. Talk about state's rights !! The more you speak it, the more it will seem normal like it is supposed to. Just my 2 cents. Jeff

If they vote to grant amnesty, they are giving away America and they not only do not care about America, they are against America and certainly they must not believe in the great founding of this country. I therefore have to ask myself "why are they representing the American people?" While I realize that politics generally requires compromise, my initial instinct is - "No compromise - Take no prisoners!" The current congress and administration has functioned on the totalitarion principle that government is the best equiped, most capable and most competent institution for determining social, moral and economic standards and goals for the nation. As a result, they have simply assumed that they have a right to confiscate and re-allocate all resources for whatever project they deem prudent. The last 2 years have demonstrated that government in general and this congress and administration in particular are the least qualified and the least capable of directing our economy and making decisions about who is "worthy" to keep their own personal property. The whole concept of taxing the "rich" at a different rate is based on the unspoken assumption that there is some intrinsic standard about what level of wealth is "moral". For decades this nation has labored under this arrogant and unconstitutional presumption and allowed the confiscation and re-allocation of our private property for someone else's lofty, self-righteous standard of morality. Who died and made anyone god to allow them to sit in judgement on the moral rectitude of how much private property I have and how I dispose of it within the confines of civil and criminal law? This congress and administration has turned our constitution on its head! Our constitution was written to guard against just such an all encompassing usurpation of personal liberty and private property. No American government, including this one, has the right to force me to pay for the bail-out of a poorly run private business like GM, or to force me to pay for the bail out of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac just because they were corrupt and exceeded their charter by investing in risky financial instruments. Why is my private property being confiscated to support such organizations as Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, Public Broadcasting, Amtrak, etc, etc, etc...? Any cooperation with this congress and administration is a contribution to our continued demise as a nation. How can we cooperate with a group of people who's political philosophy is in direct opposition to the spirit of our constitution without participating in our own destruction? Our president loves to travel around the world apologizing for America. America has nothing to apologize for except for our failure to abide by our constitution! Live free or die!

The legislative agenda is huge, why not get the House to work on the most critical items first. Examples: demonstrate you are serious by cutting spending, pare back the federal bureauarcy, amend Obamacare so it leans toward free market solutions, (its unlikely Congress can get pass an Obama veto), make necessary changes in Social Security so it will remain solvent (even if that means reducing benefits to all beneficaries and raising the full retirement age). The point is Congress needs to show us it is a functioning body and can work to achieve meaningful solutions. The people don't need business as usual.

Why even have a "lame duck" session? Few of you in Washington have earned your pay during the previous days, why try to do so now? And virtually none of you have done anything good for the country or the world since getting to Washington. How can we expect anything useful in the next couple weeks? You, Jack, are for sure an exception to this but you are too much a rarity!

We need to remember when we point a finger at them there are three pointing back at us. Lets stop this garbage of politics and get our country moving in the right direction, One Nation under GOD, Indivisible. We have a responsibility now lets use it wisely to get the job done and show the dems we don't care who gets the credit. We want our nation to be led by God fearing people that will stand up for the truth ( what is right ) according to God's word, not what everyone believes it to be in their eyes. There are absolutes, we just want them to be as we want rather than what they are.

IT WOULD MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO TRANSPORT FOOD WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION OF THE GOVERNMENT. Our freedoms are being bought away by big corperations. BOTH GEORGIA SENATORS ARE SPONSORING THIS BILL INITIATED BY MONSANTO! THEY ARE ON THE MONSANTO PAYROLL! HON. KINGSTON, please defend our freedoms. Its the most important thing we have as Americans and legislation like this and many more corperate sponsored bills will compromise our freedom in THIER interest.

Congressman Kingston, There are many things that need to be done and not in this particular order: Cut government across the board, including all Congressmen, Senators, aides, government workers, Committees, boards etc. Have all Federal government Congress, Senate and workers take a 50% pay cut (should be no more than a soldier in the fields pay). Repeal Obamacare and require all Federal Government employees (Congress, Senate, aides & workers) to participate in ANY healthcare reform that takes place. Roll all of the Federal Government employees (includeing Congress, Senate, President, etc) into the Social Security & Medicare Programs. What is good for the people should be good for the government employee. Disband all government unions and put roll-over all pension funds into rollover 401-k's, just like most of the American workers have. Insist that all money lent to GM/Chevrolet and paid back to their unions, be charged back to the American People plus 10% interest. Draw up a term limit bill for the Congress, Senate and ensure that it passes. Stop Cap & Trade and NEVER pass any Amnesty for illegal aliens, including stopping any attempt to pass the DREAM Act. Do not support S510. I am sorry to hear that both of Georgi'a Senators are sponsoring this bill. Get rid of the TSA department and start hiring retired military to screen at the airports using profiling, just like EL AL airlines. Stop the government run sexual assault underway with the new TSA screening process. I could go on and on, but I think you get where I am coming from.

Dear Congressman Kingtons I feel the things that are most on my mind is the give aways. Foreign aid is sort of foolish when you have people in this country under the same conditions. Illegals should not be here, they are breaking the law, but seems most in Washington are not trying to inforce the law, but change it so people everywhere can just come here without any laws to protect our way of life. I see no one in Washington making any attempt to combat this problem. We even promote it with free housing, free food, healthcare, education. We don't even do that for our own. Why? mike

Please, read the Declaration of Independence so that you can understand why men came to this land originally. Read the US Constitution and Bill of Rights to be reminded of what your job is...protecting our individual liberty. Stop rules, regulations, taxes, and authoritative agencies that oppress the people. Less legislation means more freedom. FOLLOW THE US CONSTITUTION and if you have difficulty understanding it please refer to the Federalist Papers. All that has and is happening to the US is due to government not following the laws of the land. STOP SPENDING--and END THE Federal Reserve. It is a lot, but we demand it. You have honored your Oath of Office by voting to support the US Constitution and my liberty 85% of the time in 2009 (The Freedom Index 12/7/09). We will keep track and hope you can increase in 2010-11. Thank you for this opportunity. Abigail

Having problem with your loan? Why don’t you try adjustable rate mortgages. The adjustable rate mortgage gives the homeowners options to go with a loan with a lower interest rate but expects the rates to go up in the coming years or the fixed rate mortgages with the higher rates. Payments also increase if the interest rate goes up. Persons who take this adjustable rate mortgages should see to it that all pros and cons are being analyzed so that no problems will occur during the time when the loans are granted. This type of loan can be more helpful as adjustable rate mortgages give us freedom and flexibility as well as adjustable interest rates.

Money seems to be the issue here in the US. Too much spending. The SS SSI disability recipients get no COLA for the second year in a row, ya'll keep voting down a $250 stimulus for us. The FIRST place to start with "spending" is to put a cap on the raises congress and the like get. If we the little people can't get a raise, then neither should Congress and Senate. I'm sorry, but at least if the "little people" are given a stimulus, they will spend it and it goes back to aid economy. We have a hard time to meet our bills, rent or mortgage as it is. Nancy Pelosi just about promised she would see to it we would get this $250, and I am understanding it's ben voted down once again. We actually are tired of hearing false promises from everyone. If we can't get cost of living allowance raise, then the government surely shouldn't get raises either. What would be used for the raises couldbe used towards unemployment and the elderly and disabled.

I am so tired of the Dems putting more spending onto any legislation. NO subsidies! I am tired of using tax payers money to support their spending spree. And when are we going to quit paying farmers to not plant and people to not work? As much as I would like to keep the MY money, I would like to see the government quit wasting it. The spending has to stop! Let the Bush tax cuts expire, and let the Dems know we are tired of the abuses. As far as the Dream Act...NO. This is just anyother reason for the illegals to come here. Why is it that I had to show the public school my child's birth certificate and SS card before he could be registered, and yet illegals are in our schools? These people break our laws coming into our country and we are to reward that effort? I am so upset with terrorists and illegals having more rights and liberties than the tax paying, law abiding US citizens.

Is it every politicians objective to destoy America? How can they pass another porkulas spending bill in the senate under the disguise that they are extending Bush era tax cuts? Has anyone looked at the earmarks? Why do they exist? Over 3 million to research termites? Over 5 million to research Tropical and Subtropical Research/T-Star? You cut my pay as a Federal employee then give out everything you saved for this crap? What a joke! Until the elected people start caring and passing legislation that the people they represent want, nothing will change. I have to admi I genrally follow a republican agenda, but I believe in wants right no matter which party it is. After everything I have seen transpire the last several years I truly believe America is in serious trouble. Because it does not matter who we the people vote into office. They will still do whatever they can to increase there own wealth and desires. I have lost faith in my President, My Senators and my Congresaman. I do believe that there are to many individuals running our country and not enough that live by together we stand divided we fall. Because we are divided as a people and as nation. God Help us all.
