Focus on The Town of Morristown
Welcome to historic Morristown, where history meets modern day. Morristown served as the major military headquarters for two separate winter encampments in the Revolutionary War, and this heritage is preserved today at Jockey Hollow and in Washington’s Headquarters - the Ford Mansion, where General Washington himself wintered.
Morristown is full of other interesting and attractive places to visit, including the constantly-changing Morris Museum and the authentic Historic Speedwell Village. Our town is also home to a Community Theatre which hosts a wide variety of performers ranging from local to high-profile.
The many restaurants which line Morristown’s streets are high-quality, including all types of food from American to Italian to Cuban to Afghan. The great variety of food reflects the great ethnic diversity of Morristown, of which we are very proud. Morristown’s commercial sector is also vibrant, and a great many active stores and banks fill the sides of the Green and nearby streets.
If you are looking to enjoy yourself while being a part of history, look no farther than Morristown. I hope to see you here!
Sincerely,
Mayor Timothy P. Dougherty
