Before the “Twist” became a pop phenomenon, Chubby Checker performed it for crowds at the Rainbow Supper Club on Pacific Avenue. Fats Domino, Danny and the Juniors, Diana Ross, and Sammy Davis, Jr. were all fixtures here. Bill Haley’s “Rock Around the Clock” attracted even more people to Wildwood and put rock n’ roll on the map.
