While The Wildwoods has a history that goes all the way back to the 1600’s, it is perhaps most associated with 1950’s fun. ‘Doo Wop’ style motels featuring mid-century design, line the streets. The 38-blocks of Boardwalk feature shops, arcades, games, eateries, three waterparks and amusement piers with rides and attractions.

After World War II, The Wildwoods became a boom town, attracting big name musicians and average folks alike. Before the “Twist” became a pop phenomenon, Chubby Checker performed it for crowds at the Rainbow Supper Club on Pacific Avenue. Fats Domino, Danny and the Juniors, Diana Ross, and Sammy Davis, Jr. were all fixtures here. Bill Haley’s “Rock Around the Clock” attracted even more people to Wildwood and put rock n’ roll on the map.
