Focus on Washington Township

Welcome to Washington Township, 23 square miles of land that’s rich in history. With 21 Indian sites and burial grounds registered in the State archives in Trenton, when you take a walk in Washington Township, you’re walking in the footsteps of the area’s earliest settlers.

Modern-day Washington Township in Gloucester County prides itself in being a family community and its reputation as just that has gained national attention. In 2008, Washington Township ranked 58th on the CNN and Money Magazine’s list of the 100 Best Cities to Live in the United States.

And it’s not hard to see why.

Washington Township is a picturesque town with plenty of lush greenery and open space. From Washington Lake Park, where residents come together for music and festivals, to our rolling golf courses, to the bustling town center full of locally-owned businesses and restaurants, there’s plenty to keep this community busy!  And during summer months, you can hop on Route 42 to spend a day on the beaches of the Jersey Shore.

Come visit us here in Washington Township and you’ll see why we’re considered one of the best places in the nation to work, live and raise a family.

Sincerely,

Mayor Barbara A. Wallace
