WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Herb Kohl today released the following statement on President Barack Obama’s visit to Green Bay, Wisconsin.  President Obama held an event to discuss the urgent need for comprehensive health care reform. 

“President Obama is absolutely right—the time for health reform is now.  Families, businesses, and the government are straining under the skyrocketing costs of health care.  Research shows that health care costs in Wisconsin cities like Green Bay and LaCrosse are much lower than the national average, yet health care quality is much better.  President Obama came to Wisconsin this week because he knows that if every city in America boasted a system like theirs, or the many other Wisconsin health systems that are doing it right, our country’s health care system would be much-improved.”
