STATEMENT OF SENATOR KOHL ON GENERAL MOTORS' ANNOUNCEMENT

I stand committed with Senator Feingold, Governor Doyle and the congressional delegation in continuing efforts to convince General Motors to reconsider its decision to end production in Janesville. We have worked to provide GM with significant federal resources to encourage re-tooling and reopening the Janesville plant so workers' jobs remain safe. In addition, it is essential we make sure employees have access to the support, assistance and training they need to get through this difficult time.
