Texas Association of Business President Meets with Pete Sessions to Discuss Fiscal Cliff & Job Creation
Washington, DC - U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-Dallas), a Member of House Republican leadership, today released the following statement regarding his meeting with Texas Association of Business President, Bill Hammond, concerning the fiscal cliff:
“I am pleased that Bill took the time to meet with me to express the Texas Association of Business’ views regarding proposals to avert the fiscal cliff. During our discussion, we agreed that any package passed by Congress must prioritize job creation and economic growth. The Texas Association of Business and I share a common understanding that our nation’s small businesses, which drive American job creation, will be negatively affected by an increase in tax rates.
“I always benefit from learning the viewpoints of the Texas Association of Business, and greatly appreciate Bill reaching out to me during this critical time for the state of Texas and our nation. I strongly believe that job creation should be a bipartisan issue, and remain committed to policies that will reenergize the free-enterprise system and get Americans back to work.”
