(WASHINGTON)--- Congressman Allen West (R-FL) released this statement today on the death of Esther Scott, the mother of Florida Governor Rick Scott:

"My wife, Angela, and I lift up Governor Scott and his family today in prayer during this difficult time of mourning.  Esther Scott was a strong and caring woman who no doubt made a significant impact on her son and, in turn our state of Florida.  I know personally the pain of losing my mother, and what a void it may leave in one’s life.  On this most difficult of days for Governor Scott, I pray he is finding comfort among friends, family and God."
