The Star of the 24th is an initiative created by Congressman Marchant to recognize outstanding citizens and groups in the 24th Congressional District of Texas.
STAR OF THE 24TH: Euless Police Academy Alumni Association
The Euless Police Academy Alumni Association (EPAAA) has earned the distinction as a Star of the 24th for its countless hours of community service and funds raised to help support the Euless Police Department.
Below is an article, written by the EPAAA Past President Lou Baum, which explains the organization’s mission and services to the community.
The Euless Police Academy Alumni Association was officially formed as a 501 C 3 Organization in 1996 with our Mission Statement to: "Provide the citizens of Euless a better understanding of the dedication and integrity of the Euless Police Department."
Since 1996, our organization has served this City with over 65,000 hours of volunteer service. Our organization has raised, through many fund raising events, well over $150,000 dollars for the Police Department and its Officers. We currently have over 95 active members that serve the Police Department in many areas such as: Citizens On Patrol, CID, Courts, Summer Pals Program for Kids at Risk, Sky Tower Security, CERT Programs, CART (Child Abduction Response Team), Assist the Victims Assistance Director as needed, several alumni members are Hamn Radio Operators to assist the Police in emergency situations.
This Organization was built on love for your fellow man through the three C's: Courage, Commitment, and Caring and to serve the servants of this City. We are a proud group of Citizens that care about this Police Department and its dedicated Officers.
