Washington, DC – Today, following his appointment to the House Appropriations Committee, Congressman Mike Honda (D-CA) was named to the following subcommittees of that body: Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies; Commerce, Justice and Science; and the Legislative Branch Subcommittees.

Rep. Honda has also been named Senior Whip by House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC). Senior Whips are a select group of Senior Members and Democratic Caucus opinion leaders who play key roles in persuasion. This group is tasked with strategic planning about how issues impact targeted Members or groups, and will help develop strategies to ensure legislative success.
