  2. This makes sense because we aren’t already $16 trillion in debt and running yearly deficits of well over $1 trillion or anything.

  4. Later this afternoon, I will be meeting with representatives from Summa Health System. Just before that, I will be meeting with the Ohio Newspaper Association. Both groups would like to discuss some of their priorities for next year. I always appreciate the opportunity to meet with local groups and businesses so I can see if there are areas where I can be helpful in my position as their representative to Washington.

  7. Today, I spoke at a health care executive educational forum. I touched on my experience in long-term care and on some of the significant issues facing the health care industry going forward. There were several attendees from Ohio among the group, which was comprised of executives from across the country.

  9. Yesterday, I visited the Federal Correctional Institution in Elkton. FCI Elkton provides work programs, education, vocational training, drug-abuse treatments, and other opportunities for inmates to become productive, law abiding citizens after release. I appreciated having the opportunity to see their entire operation up close.

  10. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. We still have much to be thankful for in this great country, not least of which are the brave men and women of our Armed Forces many of whom are currently far from home protecting our freedom. Please think of them and their families as you celebrate today.
  11. Earlier this week, I met with Mayor Starr of Middleburg Heights and his staff. I also had the chance to spend time with some city councilmen, policy chiefs, and economic development board leaders. I look forward to working with them all.

  13. “Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) confirmed Thursday that she will seek the chairmanship of the Senate Budget Committee next year but told The Hill that she cannot commit to doing a budget.”

If you refuse to create a budget, how can you possibly be serious about fixing the major fiscal and economic problems we have in this country? The answer is you aren’t and that is a problem when we are more than $16 trillion in the hole.
