KINGSTON HONORED FOR SUPPORT OF AMERICAN MANUFACTURING
Award recognizes Congressman’s consistent support of pro-growth, pro-jobs legisltion

Washington, D.C., Oct 8 -

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) has awarded Congressman Jack Kingston (GA-1) the Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence for his consistent support of policies critical to the success of manufacturing in the United States.

“Manufacturers today compete in a global marketplace,” said Nam President and CEO Jay Timmons.  “It is critical that Washington creates policies to keep us competitive and maintain our mantle of economic leadership.  Congressman Kingston understands this and has consistently supported the pro-manufacturing agenda through his votes in Congress.”

The votes used to tabulate the award include those which advance the effort to make the United States the best place in the world to manufacture and attract foreign investment, expand access to global markets, develop a 21st-century workforce and promote innovation, investment, and productivity.

“From PaR Marine in Brunswick to Daniel Defense in Black Creek to Rayonier in Jesup and JCB in Savannah, manufacturing is not only key to our economy nationally, it is key to our economy in South Georgia,” said Kingston.  “We need an economic policy that supports existing manufacturers and fosters new businesses to create American-made goods and American-made jobs.  With a strong manufacturing sector we can build a new generation of American success.”

Manufacturing employs nearly 12 million workers, contributes more than $1.6 trillion to the U.S. economy annually, is the largest driver of economic growth in the nation and accounts for the lion’s share of private sector research and development.

The National Association of Manufacturers is the preeminent US manufacturers association as well as the nation’s largest industrial trade association, representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states.
