Congressman Cuellar joined City of Hidalgo Mayor John Franz and USDA Rural Development State Director Paco Valentin to announce that the City of Hidalgo received $11,463,000 in federal funds from USDA’s Community Facilities Program to go towards the purchase of the Rio Grande Valley Event Center. This will provide rural residents with a centralized and modern location that hosts community events, and will provide the growing area with an updated resource for educational and business opportunities.
